The agent layer

Behind all of them is a knowledge base, and its size is one of the clearest differences between tiers: 250 MB on Free, 100 GB on Pro, and 1 TB on Business and above. That storage is what determines whether an agent answers from your own material or from general knowledge, which is usually the difference between an answer you can act on and one you have to verify from scratch.

The distinction between an agent and an automation is worth getting right before you buy, because it decides which limit you will hit. An agent that you ask to do something is useful but still requires you to remember to ask. An automation is what removes the remembering, and on the free plan there are three of them. Most people evaluating this product spend their trial testing agents conversationally, conclude it is a pleasant chat interface, and never reach the part that actually saves time. The honest test is to take one thing you do every week without fail, wire it as an automation, and see whether the output is good enough to send.

Credits rather than feature locks

The tiers are separated mainly by AI credits. The free plan includes 6,000 one-time welcome credits. Pro includes 50,000 credits per month, Business 150,000, Max 400,000 and Enterprise 1.1 million. This structure has a practical consequence worth understanding before you choose. On a per-seat product you estimate headcount; here you estimate how much generation the team will actually do, and those two numbers frequently disagree. A four-person team running heavy content or research work can consume more than a fifteen-person team using the workspace mainly to track tasks.

Collaboration and administration

The free plan is single-user. Pro includes 10 users and removes Taskade branding. Business allows unlimited users, adds AI Teams and custom domains. Max covers unlimited users and teams. Enterprise adds SAML single sign-on and SCIM provisioning along with organisation-wide support. Every paid plan includes more than 100 integrations, which is what keeps the workspace from becoming another island of data.

The upgrade trigger most small businesses hit is not headcount. It is either the branding on shared work or the custom domain, both of which matter as soon as clients see the workspace.

Who it fits

Taskade suits a small business or team that already keeps its work in written lists and projects, and that wants automation applied to that work without hiring someone to wire it up. The concrete test is easy to run: on the free plan you get one agent, three automations and three AI apps, which is enough to attempt one real recurring task from your week and see whether the result is usable.

It is a weaker fit for organisations that need resource planning, workload balancing and portfolio-level reporting, and for teams whose main asset is long-form documentation rather than tasks. Both of those needs are well served elsewhere, and choosing on the shape of your work rather than on the feature count is the more reliable decision.

One thing to size correctly: tiers are separated by AI credits rather than by locked features, so estimate how much generation your team will do rather than counting seats. A small team doing heavy research can outspend a much larger team that mainly tracks tasks.

Choose Taskade if your team already writes its work down as projects and lists, and you want agents acting on that material without an integration project first.
